It has been alleged that several decisions related to promotion had been leaked before CU’S 544th syndicate meeting held

Abdullah Al Asad, Section Officer of the Council Branch of the Registrar’s Office of CU, has been accused of leaking information.

 

The university authorities have formed a committee of two members to investigate this incident. The committee has been asked to submit its report within seven working days.

 

Professor of Islamic History and Culture Department Mohammad Bashir Ahmed has been selected as the chief of this committee.This committee was formed on Tuesday by the Vice-Chancellor Shireen Akhtar of the University.

 

 

According to sources in the administrative building of the university, the 544th meeting of the syndicate was held from morning to 9 pm at the fine arts institute in the city on Friday. In this meeting, more than fifty agendas were discussed. However, several decisions related to the promotion of teachers, officials and employees were leaked at midnight the previous day.

 

 

University’s Registrar (in charge) KM Noor Ahmad confirmed the formation of the inquiry committee. However, he did not agree to say anything in detail about it.

 

 

It has been alleged that Abdullah Al Asad, Section Officer of the Registrar’s Office’s Council Branch, sent messages on WhatsApp at midnight congratulating several people who had been promoted. Some of those confirmed receiving Assad’s congratulatory message at

the midnight on 13 july. Several screenshots of the congratulatory message have reportedly been received from various sources.
