Chittagong University Career Club organized Annual Meeting and Fresher Reception 2023 with the aim of making students competent and efficient to face the challenges of 21st century. So that the students do not face any problems in their professional life after finishing their academic life. This program was organized on Monday (June 19) at 11:00 am in the Law Faculty Auditorium of Chittagong University.
As the chief guest Chittagong University’s Chancellor, Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar, as the special guest Vice-Chancellor Professor Benu Kumar Dey, Law Faculty’s Dean Professor Dr. Abdullah Al Faruq, and the proctor of university Mohammad Nurul Azim Were present in this event.
As the negotiator Mizanur Rahman Managing Director of Portland Group and Chittagong District Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) Sudipta Sarkar were
present in this event. Tawhida Mahmud Arian and Arpan Chowdhury moderated the program. It was chaired by the president of Chittagong University’s Career Club Mostak Al Mujahid Genius and the Career Club’s General Secretary Safayet Hossain Tushar gave the welcome speech.
The chief guest of this event Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar said: I think about the career of twenty-seven thousand of my students who have entered in the university through the admission war. I wonder, what will they do in the career after finishing the academic life from here? So, have to make themselves worthy.
She also said that you should first develop yourself as a person in whatever career you choose. No matter how respectable a person’s career is, if he is not a person with values from the core of mind, he is lifeless. The world is now at hand, anyone can make themselves diligent and competent. So I would like career club to participate in all events of this university and make sure to the general students aware about career.
The negotiator Mizanur Rahman Mojumdar said in his speech : Singapore utilized it’s human resources in such a way that today they have become the trade center of the whole world. Once Singapore was a very poor country. That country has no mineral resources or agricultural resources. But they have created an example for us today, how a poor country has become a trade-centre of the whole world. Bangladesh has everything, it is time to use the human resources.
He also said, we have now conquered the sea too. Our opportunities to expand ourselves have increased. There are 100 economic zones in our country. That’s why we have to be prepared. Technical education should be given to all. Besides, request to the students, everyone should be well educated.
Sudipta Sarkar (PPM) in his speech said, We all run after to career and sacrifice our desires and ambitions which are not reasonable for us. Be a career builder but don’t be labourer. We all need to know everything.At present we all want to become BCS cadre. But apart from that we don’t want to be researchers, teachers in any way. I say, all of you, be dreamers. Set goals based on what your heart desires.
Chittagong University Career Club is working to create awareness about career among the students of Chittagong University, and day by day it is arranging various workshops, training programs, events, year-long mentorship programs, job fairs, NGO’s and to create bridges with experienced professionals from various sectors.
