Indian captured with counterfeit rupees after traveling from Bangladesh to West Bengal

An Indian man has been arrested with fake rupees in North 24 Parganas of West Bengal, India. According to an Indian media report, he took the counterfeit rupees from Bangladesh to India. Detectives of P&I (Headquarters) of Customs conducted a raid from the airport on Thursday local time in India after receiving secret information. About 24 lakh 21 thousand rupees of fake notes of 2000 and 500 rupees were recovered from his bag. This incident happened on Thursday.

According to the report, Sheikh Saddam has been implicated in this incident. The arrested person is a resident of the Rajabazar area of North Kolkata.

According to the news, one member of this fake note gang is a resident of Baruipur in South 24 Parganas. He went to Baruipur with counterfeit notes from Chapainawabganj or Rajshahi in Bangladesh through agents and sometimes by himself. The notes were smuggled using Saddam after contacting agents in and around Kolkata. Detectives said that the arrested person was being interrogated.
