BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is going to Senakunja on the occasion of Armed Forces Day. She will attend a reception at Senakunja on Thursday (November 21). Khaleda Zia will leave her Gulshan residence at 3:30 pm for Senakunja.
BNP Chairperson’s Personal Assistant ABM Abdus Sattar confirmed this on Wednesday (November 20).
This will be Khaleda Zia’s first public appearance after 2018. Earlier, the BNP Chairperson last visited Sylhet on 5 February 2018.
It is learned that along with Khaleda Zia, this is the first time since 2009 that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has also been invited. A total of 26 people have been invited to the Armed Forces Day program this year. Among them are BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee members, the Vice Chairman, and former military officers of other ranks.
Earlier on Tuesday night, the Armed Forces Division of the Chief Adviser’s Office invited BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to a reception at Senakunja on November 21 on Armed Forces Day. Army Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lt. General Mizanur Rahman Shamim and the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division Lt. General ASM Kamrul Ahsan delivered the invitation letter to the BNP Chairperson.
Mentioned that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will be present as the chief guest at the reception in Senakunja.
