A delegation led by Awami League presidium member Kazi Zafarullah submitted the statement to EC Secretary Md Jahangir Alam.
There is a provision for submitting the party’s expenditure report within 90 days after the polls.
According to the Representation of the People Order, the Awami League was allowed to spend a maximum of Tk 4.5 crore as they fielded 266 candidates in the Jan 7 election.
Awami League treasurer H N Ashequr Rahman said that the total electoral expenditure of the Awami League in the 12th parliamentary election is Tk 2,76,78,120.
“The candidates have spent on their own, so our expenses have been reduced,” he said.
Office secretary Biplab Barua said, “As a registered party, we will submit the income and expenditure account every year. In the 11th national election in 2018, the party spent Tk 1.05 crore.”
