In Kaptai, 13 tourists injured as the tourist bus overturns.

“In Rangamati’s Kaptai Upazila, a tourist bus coming from Chittagong lost control at a road junction and overturned. In this incident, 13 passengers on the bus were injured. After the incident, normal traffic movement has been restored on the road.

On Friday (February 23), around 10 AM, the accident occurred at Byangchhari intersection in the Chitmaram area of Kaptai Road.

According to local sources, five passengers who were injured in the accident have received primary treatment from the Kaptai Upazila Health Complex. The others have been taken to Kaptai Navy Hospital. Although reports indicate a total of 13 injured in the incident, there are no reports of anyone in critical condition. However, there were about 35-40 passengers on the bus. The police, BGB, and fire service members are conducting rescue operations.

Dr. Omar Faruk Roni, Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of Kaptai Upazila Health Complex, stated that five injured individuals arrived at the hospital due to the road accident. They have received primary treatment, and there are no severe injuries reported.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abuul Kalam of Kaptai Police Station mentioned, ‘We are at the scene of the incident. Further details will be provided later.’

Mohiuddin, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Kaptai, stated, ‘A morning tourist bus from Chittagong lost control at a road junction and collided with the hill. Thirteen people were injured in this incident. They have received medical treatment from local hospitals. Normal traffic movement has been restored. The crane will be used to recover the bus and keep it in the police station.'”
