An 8-km stretch tailback on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge Highway has been created as vehicles are moving slowly due to dense fog.
A traffic jam has persisted on the stretch from Elenga in Tangail to Bangabandhu Bridge East on the Bangabandhu Bridge Highway since Friday morning.
To alleviate the traffic congestion, police members of highway and Bangabandhu Bridge East police station are working actively. Besides, passengers along with transport workers of buses and trucks suffered heavily due to the cold weather.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge East police station Alamgir said, police efforts are underway to clear the congestion, and normal traffic conditions are expected to resume shortly.
