To maintain law and order during the 12th parliamentary election scheduled for January 7 a total of 1,151 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the country, including the capital.
Shariful Islam, public relations officer (PRO) confirmed this development. Today at BGB headquarters he said, the BGB personnel will be working to ensure a free, fair and peaceful election.
In order to assist the local civil administration, the BGB will work as a mobile and striking force to maintain peace and order in the electoral areas of the country, including Dhaka, from December 29, 2023 to January 10, 2024 under ‘In Aid to the Civil Power.’
