The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has conducted a drive at a 5-star hotel in the capital’s Gulshan and arrested 10 for their alleged involvement in injuring three cops at Narayanganj during a clash on Tuesday.
Confirming the matter, RAB’s legal and media wing deputy director Imran Khan said RAB-11 carried out the drive early on Thursday morning.
The arrestees are Md Jewel Ahmed, 52, Md Yusuf Ali Bhuiyan, 69, Md Masum Shikari, 45, Habibur Rahman Selim, 48, Md Shafiuddin Bhuiyan, 51, Md Shafiuddin Bhuiyan, 48, Md Masukul Islam Rajib, 53, Md Shakil Miah, 40, Md Arman Mollah, 46, and Md Habibur Rahman, 54.
After the initial interrogation, important information regarding the attack on the cops was found. The legal process against them is ongoing, according to the RAB.
The three members of police were injured in a clash with BNP activists on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Araihazar of Narayanganj, during a three-day countrywide blockade enforced by BNP and like-minded political parties.
Thursday is the last day of the blockade.
