405 crore budget has been approved in University of Chittagong

Chittagong University (CU) has approved a budget of 405 crore 35 lakh tk for the financial year 2023-2024. Which is 23 crore more than the last financial year.

This information was informed in a press notification sent by the information and photography branch of the university on Sunday afternoon. According to the notification, this budget was approved in the 59th joint meeting of the Syndicate and Finance Committee (FC) of the University.

 

In that meeting the Chancellor of Chittagong University Shireen Akhtar was present As
a presided . It approved the revised revenue budget of 396 crore 05 lakh tk for the financial year 2022-2023 and the estimated revenue budget of 405 crore 35 lakh tk
for the financial year 2023-2024 which will be presented in the university’s senate session.

In the meeting, Chancellor said that this time, as usual, the education and the research sector have been given the highest importance in the budget that has been formulated. The current administration is working relentlessly with the collective efforts of all in the development of education-research, administrative and physical infrastructure of Chittagong University. The Chancellor sought the sincere cooperation of all quarters including the Supreme Council of the University to continue this trend in the future.

In the joint meeting of Syndicate and FC, Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Benu Kumar Dey, FC and Syndicate member Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abul Manjur, FC member professor Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam, Professor Muhammad Atiqur Rahman, Professor (Retired) Dr. Sultan Ahmed, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdullah Mamun and Syndicate member Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan, Dr. Naeem Uddin Hasan Aurangzab Chowdhury, Mohammad Ali, Md, Moazzam Hossain, SM Fazlul Haque, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khairul Islam and Syndicate Secretary KM Noor Ahmad were present. Professor Dr. Mahmuda Khatun and Dr. Md. Omar Farooq participated in the meeting online.
