Yesterday, Jaaz Multimedia filed a General Diary (GD) at the Hatirjheel police station, complaining about the piracy of their horror film, “Jinn”.
The Puja Chery and Shajal Noor starrer, “Jinn”, was released this Eid. Since its release, it has been performing well at the box office. Meanwhile, some scenes from the film were seen circulating on social media, which people have said to be more funny than scary.
According to the GD, a Facebook page called ‘T for Tasnia’ has illegally captured the movie, “Jinn”, from cinema halls. The report goes on to allege that the page spread misinformation about the film on April 23, by using sarcastic words with the recorded video, in turn “hampering” the film’s image.
The GD also stated that video piracy of the film and sarcastic comments being circulated on Facebook is causing damage to Jaaz Multimedia and that “Jinn” may suffer substantial business losses.
Jaaz Multimedia also posted a status on their Facebook page today, writing, “One Facebook page released an 11-minute video clip by recording it from the cinema hall. Since all our movies are synced on Facebook and YouTube, they have been deleted due to auto-claim. We are preparing to file a case against them on Sunday.”
