Foreign Minister  Dr. AK Abdul Momen stated to reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the recent death of Sultana Jasmine in RAB custody will not affect the relationship between Bangladesh and the United States.

On Wednesday (March 29), He cited that incidents like this occur  frequently in America, where just this week, a child was killed in school. The foreign minister acknowledged that he learned about Jasmine’s death through the news but could not confirm its authenticity.

He suggested that the Ministry of Home Affairs and RAB should provide further information.

Jasmine was taken into custody by RAB on March 22 from Mukti Mor in Naogaon city and died on March 24 while receiving treatment in the ICU of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. She worked as an office assistant in Chandipur Union Land Office in Naogaon Sadar Upazila.
