The MV APARAJITA, the flagship vessel of Bangladesh, arrived at Mongla port carrying equipment for the Rooppur nuclear power plant. The ship carried a total of 1,200 metric tons of equipment, which has already been unloaded and will be supplied to the power plant throughout March.

In January of this year, two additional foreign ships arrived at Mongla port with 2,700 metric tons of machinery for the power plant. These machines were transported by road to the under-construction Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.

Despite obstacles, the Director of the Ruppur NPP construction project, Alexey Likhachev, stated that the equipment for the first unit of the nuclear power plant will be delivered within the required timeframe.

According to sources at the port, the United States has imposed sanctions on 69 ships from seven shipping companies that transport Russian goods. As a result, goods imported from Russia for the Rooppur nuclear power plant were cleared in India and then transported to Mongla port.
