He also said that tuna fish is not so popular in Bangladesh. But in the coastal area, there is a lot of tuna fishing. This fish is sold at a very low price in the market. But canned tuna fish is very popular abroad. After packaging in cans, exporting this fish will generate huge foreign exchange earnings.
Associate researcher of the project Assistant Professor Masud Rana told that the demand for ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook food is increasing worldwide. SAU’s canned process will help meet this demand.
He also said that this process has been done at low cost in such a way that small entrepreneurs can benefit by adopting this process.
It is known that the country’s marginal fish processing entrepreneurs will be trained in this regard. After packaging, the hilsa and tuna fish will be marketed through the marginal entrepreneurs under the supervision of the Department of Fisheries.
