The minister said this at the 15th debate festival organized by the National Debate Federation of Bangladesh (NDF) at Shishu Academy in the capital on Friday.
Education Minister said, ‘Debate clubs are being tried to be developed at school level to expand debate practice across the country. This will lead to a generation that respects dissent. Debate plays a helpful role in the rational man we seek to create.’
At the event, the Education Minister was awarded the NDF Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding contribution to debate. After the inauguration ceremony, a policy debate was held with the participation of Education Minister, Vice-Chancellors of four universities, columnist Subhash Singh Roy and Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saddam Hussain.
