After the departure of Fortune Barishal from the Bangladesh Premier League, star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to feature in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Peshawar Zalmi.
The Tigers’ Test and T20I skipper was picked as a ‘reserve supplementary’, the PSL franchise confirmed through an official Twitter post on Monday.
The eighth edition of the PSL kicked off on Monday while Zalmi will begin their campaign on Tuesday against Karachi Kings. According to Zalmi, Shakib will be available from the first game.
The 35-year-old is set to return back ahead of the upcoming white ball home series against England, scheduled from March 1.
Shakib’s Barishal were knocked out by Rangpur Riders in the eliminator on Sunday and he faced criticism for not coming on to bat in that game. However, Shakib had a good run in the BPL both with bat and ball, scoring 375 runs and picking up 10 wickets in 13 games.
The star all-rounder had previously twice featured in PSL.
