Alam bagged 19,571 votes while AL candidate AKM Rezaul Karim got 20,405 votes, according to unofficial results.
14-party alliance candidate AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen (Torch) got 18,635 votes and was elected privately in Bogura-4 (Nandigram-Kahalu) constituency. As his closest rival, independent candidate Ashraful Islam Hero Alam was defeated by getting 17 thousand 389 votes.
Polling was held on Wednesday (February 1) in the six seats vacated by the BNP. Social media personality Ashraful Alam alias Hero Alam has been a candidate for Bogura Sadar and Nandigram-Kahalu constituencies.
