Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said that Rooppur nuclear power project products have been sent in such ships which have restrictions. The minister commented that Russia is doing this knowingly.

He informed the reporters this information on Sunday (January 22) afternoon. The foreign minister said, “We are surprised that Russia has knowingly changed the name of the ship that has the sanctions.” We didn’t expect that. We hope that Russia will send the goods on a ship that does not have sanctions now.’

We do not want to accept such ships, he said, “We have asked Russia to send goods on any ship other than the ban.” We do not want to accept ships that have restrictions.

On January 19, the US embargoed Russian ship ‘Ursa Major’ left Indian waters without unloading the equipment of the Rooppur nuclear power plant. The ship waited for about two weeks to discharge the cargo in West Bengal, India. But the ship failed to get permission from New Delhi to discharge the goods. In this situation, the ship left the Indian waters on January 16.

On the same day (January 16), Bangladesh was informed by Russia that instead of Ursa Major, the equipment of Rooppur nuclear power plant will be sent to Bangladesh by another ship. A senior official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this on condition of anonymity.
The incidents of killings and shootings on the Myanmar border are tragic. Bangladesh continues to protect its borders. The foreign minister also said that China will be informed about this.
