In the Bogra-4 and Bogra-6 by-elections, the widely discussed independent candidate Ashraful Alam alias Hero Alam has been allocated the ‘Ektara’ symbol. Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam has given this symbol to Hero Alam at around 2 pm on Wednesday.
After receiving the symbol, Hero Alam said, “I am an artist. I do acting and singing. That’s why I am very happy to receive the Ektara symbol. I had to fight a lot to get the nomination just like the previous time. I don’t know why I am being harassed repeatedly. I am hopeful that the election will be fair. Besides, I am sure that common people will allow me to serve them.”
Hero Alam, a resident of Erulia village in Bogra Sadar, was a cable operator. Later he started making music videos of himself. He came into the limelight when his music video went viral on social media.
It should be noted that Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) and Bogra-6 (Sadar) seats were declared vacant due to the resignation of BNP party members of parliament. Voting for Bogra-4 and Bogra-6 constituencies will be held on February 1.
