In three drug cases of Cox’s Bazar, the court sentenced 2 persons to life imprisonment and 2 persons to 4 years imprisonment.

In 2 cases of yaba trafficking, two persons were sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of 50,000 taka, and in default of payment of the fine, 1 year of imprisonment without labor.
They are Ripon Chandra Bhowmik son of deceased Nepal Chandra Bhowmik of Golappur area of Begumganj upazila of Noakhali district and Rabiul Molla son of Gauranandi area of Barisal district. Lal Chan Mullah.
2 people were sentenced to 4 years rigorous imprisonment and fined Tk 10,000 in a case of recovery of brewed liquor. In default, another 3 months imprisonment without labor was ordered. They are Nur Hakim, son of Rashid Ahmad and Shah Jahan, son of Nurul Alam, of Teknaf’s old Pallan neighborhood.
Public Prosecutor (PP) of Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge’s Court Faridul Alam confirmed this information and said that on March 8, 2021, Ripon Chandra Bhowmik was arrested along with 5,400 pieces of Yaba tablets at the Khuniapalong check post of Ramu Upazila.
