A Bangladeshi schoolboy named Minhajul Islam Minar (17) was killed in firing by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Dinajpur border. The incident took place on Wednesday (September 7) in the night before day at Dinajpur Sadar Upazila’s Dainur border north of 314/1 pillar.
The deceased Minhajul Islam is the son of Majedul Islam of Khanpur Bhitarpara village of Sadar Upazila of Minar. He is a 9th standard student of Khanpur High School.Locals said that at night some boys of Khanpur village went to Dainur border illegally to bring turtle shells and BSF opened fire. Minhajul was killed on the spot. Since then two people named Sagar and Emdadul are missing. There is no trace of them. No one can say that they are not captured by BSF, they are absconding.Kamalpur Union Chairman Ahsan Habib Sarkar told Dhaka Post that a teenager named Minhajul was killed in BSA firing at Dainur border of my union.
Akhtar Hossain, commander of BGB’s Dainur camp, said that one person was shot dead by BSF while trying to bring dry goods to the Indian border between 8:00 and 9:00 on Wednesday night. The body is with the BSF. The body will be handed over after the flag meeting.
