Three people, including a child, were killed in a private car when the under-construction BRT flyover collapsed on a girder in the capital’s Uttara. Two others were injured in the accident.
The incident took place in front of Arong in Uttara Jasim Uddin area on Monday afternoon. However, the names of the victims have not yet been confirmed.The police believe that the death toll may increase in this accident. Meanwhile, after the accident, heavy traffic jam has occurred in Uttara area as the traffic has stopped. The police are trying to clear the traffic jam and remove the private car involved in the accident.Earlier, on July 15, a security guard was killed when the ‘launching girder’ of the same project was crushed in Gazipur. A worker and a pedestrian were injured in the accident.After this accident, discussions started in various circles about taking steps to strengthen security measures in the project area. Still, the common people think that this accident happened because of not taking effective measures.
