A student of Chittagong University (CU) has been sexually harassed on a moving shuttle train. The incident took place on Thursday  at around 8:15 pm on a shuttle train from the campus to Chittagong’s Battali railway station.

The victim (who did not want to be named) was studying in a department of the Faculty of Arts and Anthropology. Earlier, the students were worried as one student after another was injured by throwing stones at the shuttle train and students were beaten by the locals. And now the security crisis has come as a blow to the head.
Describing the incident, the aggrieved student said, ‘I was going to the city by the 5:30 shuttle train from the campus. The train leaves in the evening without leaving the regular schedule. As it was time for Iftar, two old men in the carriage got off the train. After Iftar, they get into another carriage. ‘

“After Iftar, two new boys got into the carriage. They were saying to each other, ‘Don’t leave the train, just go by bus’. Then one of them first saw me with the light of the phone and left. Later he came again and asked, ‘Apu, where are you going?’ I said, why? Said, ‘The train will not leave.’ I said, then? He said, “The train will not leave, so I said what else.”The boy is gone,” he said. The other is saying to her in a low voice, ‘Girl man ..! Why did you go to ask? ‘ It was about seven o’clock when the train left. The boy is moving the two bogies side by side. Sitting in different places after changing places a little bit. I asked, are you an outsider? The boy did not understand. I said, you are not a student here? He said, “We are coming from Bahaddarhat.”
The victim said, “Then the train stopped at a station and started running again. I phoned for a while and sat looking out the window. Suddenly on the moving train, someone came and grabbed my face with one hand and my head with the other with maximum force. Immediately I screamed and fell down trying to move my hand. I saw death in front of my eyes. Still holding my hand to my face and I kept pushing hard with my hands and elbows and screaming loudly. Suddenly his hand slipped and my screams went out. That’s when they ran away. ”

He said, “I kept shouting with my hands and head out of the window. I kept looking at both sides and kept calling. A boy comes to the door from the carriage on the other side and says something. Said, ‘What happened?’ I just keep shouting, please, come here. How many boys are here, come here, how many boys are here, come here, tell them to stop. After a while the train slowed down and the boys came. The phone lights up. I did not find anyone there. ‘ The student sustained injuries to his face and hand after the incident. There is a resentment among the students of the university over this issue. Al Rafi Sheikh, a student of the Economics Department for the 18-19 academic year, told Kaler Kanth: When will they think, now is the time to give security to the students! ‘
University Assistant Proctor. Shahidul Islam said, “We have heard the matter and hope the poison will be resolved soon. However, the problem is that the girl did not see the face of the scoundrels. So it will be a little difficult to identify the culprits. But we will try.
