JSC and JDC examinations have not been held in the last two years due to coronary infection. This year also JSC and JDC exams are less likely.

In a press conference held at the Ministry of Education on Tuesday, Education Minister Dipu Moni said, “We have to look at a lot of logistical issues. This year’s SSC is scheduled to be held in June and HSC in August. If HSC is in August then we still think that it will be very difficult for us to have JSAC-JDC exam. Because the education boards will be busy with SSC-HSC exams and results …. ‘If a journalist wants to know in the context of this statement of the Education Minister, then we can say that this time the JSC-JDC examination is not taking place. In response, Education Minister Dipu Moni said the decision has not been taken yet. And after a while, the decision will be made. There is SSC-HSC exam ahead, if you think looking at the logistics issues, it can be done even if it is difficult, in that case maybe it can be taken. However, the education minister said that he would like to take this decision in another month and a half.

There is no mention of JSC examination in the new curriculum, which will be effective from 2023. Again, this test has not been taken in the last two years. How important do you think it is to take this test for one year in this situation? To such a question, the education minister said, in that sense, it may not be very urgent. Even then the decision will be informed considering the situation. The decision will be announced as soon as possible, the education minister said. If you want to know about this later, a senior official of Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Education told Prothom Alo that it is unlikely that JSC examination will be held this year. Because the HSC exam will start in August and will end in September. It takes about three months of preparation to take such a public exam. Again, there are many more students in JSC examination.

Usually JSC and JDC examinations were held in November of each year. But due to the corona infection, the educational institution was closed in March 2020. The educational institution was closed for about 18 months. For this reason, the examinations have not been held in the last two years. In 2020, the students passed the upper class without examination. Last year, however, there were annual examinations in schools with less subjects in the short syllabus. Once again, eighth grade students are more likely to have annual exams at school instead of JSC-JDC exams.
