Two people have been caught selling TCB products at a grocery store in the dark of night. 260 liters of oil, 300 kg of pulses, 300 kg of gram and 300 kg of sugar were seized from them.

Locals arrested them from Rohitpur Bazar area of ​​Keraniganj on Wednesday night and handed them over to the police. Police arrested the owner of the grocery store on Thursday. The arrested persons are Abdul Qayyum (33) and Ashraf Ali (30). Among them are Abdul Qayyum, the driver of the freight pickup van, and Ashraf Ali, his accomplice. In this incident, on Thursday morning, said Mudidokani in Belna area of ​​Keraniganj. Police arrested Ershad from his home.

Abdul Qayyum, the driver of the pickup van, said, “We have come from Darigaon area of ​​Basta Union to deliver goods to Rohitpur Bazar area. Nawaz Ali, a dealer of TCB of Basta Union, told us to deliver the goods to Ershad’s shop in Rohitpur Bazar area. I acted accordingly. I had no idea what these products were. I have come here and learned from the locals that these are the products of TCB. ‘Syed Ali, a eyewitness and grocer in Rohitpur Bazar, said: At this time we are suspicious of their movements. At one point I went there and saw that they were TCB products. Later, with the help of locals, they were arrested and reported to the police. The police came and arrested the two. At this time, TCB products came to the store, the owner of the grocery store Ershad. Ershad managed to escape. In this regard, Basta Union Parishad Chairman Ashkar Ali said, ‘Last Tuesday, through two distributors in my union, more than three hundred TCB card holders were supposed to be given two liters of oil, two kg of pulses, sugar and gram. Later on Wednesday night, I came to know that the people of distributor Newaz along with TCB products have been arrested from Rohitpur market area.

Keraniganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mehedi Hasan said maximum punishment would be given to those involved in the incident.

Officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Model Police Station Abu Salam Mia said, ‘Abdul Qayyum, Ashraf Ali and Md. A case has been filed against Ershad. The accused in the case have been sent to Dhaka District Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court for seven days remand. Attempts are being made to arrest his associates including TCB dealer Newaz in this incident.
