This time in the first year of graduation (honors) in 32 public universities of the country, admission test will be held in cluster system.

This test will be in three clusters. Of these, three new universities are being included in the batch system for the first time. The universities are Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University in Kishoreganj, Chandpur University of Science and Technology and Habiganj Agricultural University.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the UGC with the Vice-Chancellors of the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Thursday. Admission test schedule will be decided in the meeting of the university council on Friday. Today’s meeting discusses the problems that occurred in the cluster exams held last year. To solve these problems, the UGC has given some suggestions including admission test and selecting the university centrally according to the choice of the students and completing the migration within the stipulated time. It was discussed in the meeting that this year admission test will be taken in different colleges outside the university center. However, the eight universities outside the cluster will conduct admission tests like their own. The UGC has recommended to the universities outside the cluster meeting to publish the schedule of admission test, admission test, results and time of admission. Apart from this, the UGC has suggested to reduce the number of seats in the admission test fees and the seats which are vacant in the public universities.

The meeting was chaired by UGC chairman (routine duties) Dil Afroza Begum, commission members Muhammad Alamgir, Biswajit Chand, Md. Abu Taher, Secretary of the Commission Ferres Zaman, Director of Public University Management Department Mohammad Zaminur Rahman and others were present. The meeting was attended by the Vice Chancellors of 36 universities and their nominated representatives.
