The matter was confirmed on Monday (March 14) by Pintu Chakma, executive engineer of the Roads and Highways Department in Chittagong.
He said construction of a steel footover bridge at Fakirhat Bazar near Fauzdarhat Kalushah Bridge on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway is underway. All vehicles will be closed for 1 hour and 30 minutes from 5:30 am to 6:00 am on March 18 to install the deckbeam of the footover bridge under construction. At this time, he requested the emergency commuters in Dhaka-Chittagong to use Chittagong Port Access Road and Bayezid Link Road.
Meanwhile, the Roads and Highways Department of Chittagong has expressed regret over the temporary inconvenience caused to the public due to the closure of traffic on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
